On 1 Dec 03 an employee of Belpre Sand and Gravel, 320 Cemetery Road, Little Hocking, reported when he arrived at work Monday morning, he discovered that an unidentified person(s) threw a spud bar through the window of the scale house and stole $20 in cash and change. The breaking and entering took place between 10:30 pm on 30 Nov and 5 am on 1 Dec. This case remains under investigation (698).

On 1 Dec 03 Deputy Sheriff Jobes responded to a call at 836 Pike Street Apt. 3, Marietta, concerning threats made toward Daniel C. Chambers, age 43, 288 Apt. F Ridgewood Courts, Marietta. While visiting friends at Sierra Apartments, Mr. Chambers was threatened by Shawn A. Gill, age 23, 836 Pike Street Apt. 1, Marietta. Mr. Gill became hostile after thinking Mr. Chambers called the Sheriff’s Office on another unrelated report. After an investigation Sgt. Jobes filed an affidavit requesting a summons for Mr. Gill for menacing, a violation of section 2903.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.

On 1 Dec 03 Tammy Backus, age 31, 344 Earl Place Road, Cutler, reported an unknown person(s) stole around 85 pills of her prescription medication between 13 Nov and 1 Dec. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 1 Dec 03 an employee of the Misty Blue Bar, 1755 State Route 821, Marietta, reported an unknown person(s) broke a window, entered the business and stole a cash register and video game between 2:30 am and 11:30 pm on 30 Nov. This case remains under investigation (697).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Gregory Lee Adams, age 47, 5063 School House Road, Little Hocking, OH, for Domestic Violence, a misdemeanor. Adams was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the County Jail on 01 Dec 03 at 2:33 AM.

John L. Miller, age 60, 36796 Hill Street, Lower Salem, for a violation of his probation, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested in the office of probation officer Bosworth of the Marietta Probation Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 03 at 11 am.

Jassandra C. Johnston, age 23, Route 6 Box 79E, Marietta, for a felony count of failure to appear. Deputy Sheriff O’Brien picked up Johnston at the Lakin Correctional Facility in West Virginia and transported her to the Washington County Jail where she was processed in on 1 Dec 03 at 11:54 am.

Calvin E. Hester, age 22, 630 Becker Road, Whipple, for criminal damaging/endangering, a misdemeanor. Hester turned himself into Deputy Sheriff Sears at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 03 at 2:30 pm.
