On 30 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Brown was dispatched
to 605 Dana Road, Newport, after of Wilma I. Sharpnack, age
65, Route 1 Box 116A Lena Avenue, Newport, reported she was
twice head butted by her live-in boyfriend Everett E. McAtee,
age 56. The assault ensued after an argument in which Ms. Sharpnack
expressed her desire to leave the Elk’s Club in St Marys,
WV.
Deputy Brown located Mr. McAtee at his home, arrested him for
domestic violence and transported to the Washington County
Jail.
On 30 Nov 03 a Washington County resident reported he heard
through a third party that threats were made against him.
This case remains under investigation (187).
On 30 Nov 03 in response to a disturbance call, Deputy Sheriffs
Malone and Kapple were dispatched to the residence of Greg
Adams,
age 47, 5063 Schoolhouse Road, Little Hocking.
A subsequent investigation concluded that Mr. Adams was perturbed
at his live-in fiancée’s drinking with her family.
An argument ensued and Mr. Adams slapped, grabbed the throat
and shoved his fiancée to the ground. As a result Deputies
arrested Mr. Adams for domestic violence and transported him
to the Washington County Jail.
On 30 Nov 03 Michael Wilson, age 31, 10600 State Route 60, Rinard
Mills, reported that between 26 Nov and 30 Nov an unknown person(s)
entered his home and stole eight assorted videos and DVD’s.
This case remains under investigation (602).
On 30 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Underwood responded to an alarm
at Carter’s Lumber Company, Route 1 Box 375-2 Ayers Road,
Belpre. Deputy Underwood established a perimeter and conducted
a search of all of the buildings of the business with the assistance
of Deputies Gherke, Norman, Spencer and Jenkins.
No items appeared to be missing, however deputies found signs
of forced entry at the rear of the business. This incident
remains
under investigation.
On 30 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Malone investigated
a deer-vehicle collision on State Route 339 near mile marker
9.
Lawrence E. Gossett, age 23, 525 Mitchell Avenue, Beverly,
was southbound on State Route 339 when a deer approached from
the
east colliding with the driver’s side door of Mr. Gossett’s
1981 Chevy Impala. Damage was slight and no injuries were reported.
On 30 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Norman investigated
a deer-vehicle collision on State Route 339 near mile marker
18.9.
Joshua D. Wagner, age 22, 16531 State Route 339, Waterford,
was southbound on State Route 339 when three deer entered the
roadway from the east. The third deer collided with the front
left fender of Mr. Wagner’s 2001 Toyota Solara. Damage
was slight and no injuries were reported.
On 30 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Kapple investigated
a deer-vehicle collision at 1467 Masonic Park Road.
Laura D. Phillips, age 59, 770 Ferncliff Drive, Marietta, was
northbound on Masonic Park Road when she collided with a deer
approaching from the west.
Ms. Phillips’ 2003 Chevy Cavalier sustained minor damage
and no injuries were reported.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Alan Lightfritz, age 23, 717 Quarry Street
Marietta, OH, for Parole Violation. Lightfrtiz was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the County Jail on 30 Nov 03 at
1:15 AM.
Everett Eslie McAtee, age 56, 116A Glena Street
Newport, OH, for Domestic Violence, a misdemeanor.
McAtee was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Brown
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the County Jail on 30 Nov 03 at 3:30 AM.
Joshua Don Martin, age 23, Post Office Box 226,
Waterford, OH, for Contempt on Fines, a misdemeanor.
Martin was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the County Jail on 30 Nov 03 at 7:27 AM.
Randall Craig Wilson, age 46, 2288 Sealey Ridge
Road Vincent, OH, for No Operator’s License, Improper
Turn, No Plates, and Hit Skip, all misdemeanors. Wilson was
arrested at his residence by Trooper Cunningham of the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the County Jail on 30
Nov 03 at 7:05 PM.
