On 27 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Hall was dispatched to 7170 State Route 60, Lowell, after Deborah K. Green, age 46, PO Box 122, Waverly, WV, reported that she was threatened and in fear for safety after a verbal altercation. After an investigation Deputy Hall filed an affidavit requesting a summons for Rogainea Modich, age 36, 2465 Bear Creek Road, Lowell, for disorderly conduct, a violation of section 2917.11(A-1) of the Ohio Revised Code (500) (597).

On 27 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Hall responded to the report of a death at 20481 State Route 821, Dexter City. An investigation concluded that Vera J. Harriman, age 51, apparently died as a result of natural causes. No unusual circumstances were noted.

On 27 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriffs Wilson and Jenkins were dispatched to 211 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre, regarding a domestic violence complaint. Through the course of their investigation Deputies Wilson and Jenkins deduced that Cassie Staley, age 19, witnessed her mother Melanie Staley, age 38, having an argument with her live in boyfriend Kelly Klintworth, age 35, over the oven being left on. Mr. Klintworth pushed Melanie and when Cassie interceded, Mr. Klintworth pushed her as well. This in turn alerted Ms. Staley’s 16 year old daughter and when she attempted to call the police, Mr. Klintworth threw the phone against the wall putting her in fear for her safety. The three females then fled the scene and called authorities. Attempts to locate Mr. Klintworth were unsuccessful and a warrant was issued for his arrest for three counts of felony domestic violence. Mr. Klintworth later turned himself in and was transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 27 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Kapple responded to the report of a death at 3030 Roberts Road, Amesville. An investigation concluded that Willmore D. Goins, age 83, apparently died as a result of natural causes. No unusual circumstances were noted.

On 27 Nov 03 Richard Newlen, age 19, 51086 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported that between midnight on 26 Nov and 12:15 am on 27 Nov, an unknown person broke the window of his car and stole his Sony stereo. This case remains under investigation (1291).

On 27 Nov 03 David W. Keener, age 43, 905 Hadley Hollow Road, Marietta, reported that between 6 pm on 26 Nov and 11 am on 27 Nov, an unknown person(s) shot his green Oldsmobile with paintballs. This case remains under investigation (296).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Donald Shane Pugh, age 48, 802 Montgomery Street Marietta, OH, for Domestic Violence, a misdemeanor. Pugh was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the County Jail on 27 Nov 03 at 1:10 AM.

John Lawrence Miller, age 60, 36796 Hill Street Lower Salem, OH, for Operating a Motor Vehicle while under the Influence 2 nd Offense and Speed, both misdemeanors. Miller was arrested on State Route 7 by Trooper Skinner of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the County Jail on 27 Nov 03 at 4:15 AM.

Kelly Thomas Klintworth, age 35, 211 Barnett Ridge Road Belpre, OH, for 3 counts of Domestic Violence, all felonies. Klintworth turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office and was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the County Jail on 27 Nov 03 at 11:00 AM.

Kenneth Euwell DeVaughn, age 18, 310 Sixth Street Apartment 5, Marietta, OH, for Breaking & Entering, a felony. DeVaughn was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the County Jail on 27 Nov 03 at 7:19 PM.
