On 22 Nov 03 the police departments of Belpre,
OH and Ripley, WV requested the assistance of the Sheriff’s
Office in locating three suspects that allegedly perpetrated
a robbery in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Ripley, WV. This
case remains under investigation (490).
On 22 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Sirianni was dispatched to the home
of Ed Tornes, age 42, 7750 Waterford Road, Marietta, after Mr.
Tornes reported he saw an acquaintance lurking around a barn
on his property. Further inspection discovered that the suspect
kicked in a barn door and stole a three disk CD player and speakers.
After talking with the suspect, Deputy Sirianni filed an affidavit
requesting a summons for Troy A. Erb, age 28, Route 2, Lowell,
for theft of property under $500, a misdemeanor of the first
degree and breaking and entering, a felony of the fifth degree.
On 22 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Spencer investigated
a car-deer collision on State Route 550 .1 miles west of Salster
Road in Warren Township. Stephanie D. Funk, age 26, Route 1
Box 114, Cutler, was eastbound on State Route 550 when her 1996
Mercury struck a deer. Deputy Spencer reported no injuries and
only minor damage to the left front headlight of the vehicle.
On 22 Nov 03 June P. Styer, age 78, 14510 Waterford
Road, Waterford, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that
an unknown person(s) damaged her mailbox late Friday night.
This case remains under investigation (1291).
On 22 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Mankins was dispatched to the home
of Craig A. Howell, age 38, 2561 State Route 26, regarding a
domestic dispute. After an argument over car keys, Lisa R. Howell,
age 32, pushed her husband to the floor causing scratches under
his right arm. Deputy Mankins arrested Mrs. Howell for domestic
violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
On 22 Nov 03 while on patrol on Wooster Street near Sixth Street,
Deputy Sheriff Wilson observed a green Mustang driving with
an inoperable headlight. Upon making contact with the 16-year-old
driver, Deputy Wilson learned that she did not have a driver’s
license. The juvenile was issued a citation for driving without
a license and released to the custody of her mother.
On 22 Nov 03 a Marietta woman reported to the Sheriff’s
Office that between 18 Nov and 22 Nov she received 150 harassing
phone calls from an acquaintance. After an investigation Deputy
Sheriff Kapple filed an affidavit requesting a summons for Shane
M. Hardie, age 27, 761 Buckeye Avenue, Marietta, for telecommunications
harassment, a violation of section 2917.21(A-1) of the Ohio
Revised Code.
On 22 Nov 03 while on patrol, Deputy Sheriff Mankins observed
the driver of a motorcycle fail to stop when turning from County
Road 46 to County Road 9. After a check of the license plate,
Deputy Mankins issued a citation to Ricky A. Schramm, age 48,
5570 Sand Hill Road, Marietta, for failure to stop and for expired
registration.
On 22 Nov 03 the Sheriff’s Office began
assisting another agency in an auto theft investigation (501).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail.
Nickie J. Myers, age 29, 909 Front Street , Marietta
, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Myers was arrested on
Front Street by Deputy Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Nov
03 at 12:20 am.
Richard W. Evans, age 41, 1716 Shore Terrace, Orlando, FL, a
fugitive from justice, a felony. Evans was arrested at his residence
by Trooper Courson of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 22 Nov 03 at 4:10 am.
Lisa R. Howell, age 32, 25791 State Route 26, New Matamoras,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Howell was arrested at
her residence by Deputy Eddy of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Nov
03 at 5:16 pm.
Robert S. King, age 19, 480 Edgewood Avenue, Indiana , PA, for
underage consumption, no operator’s license, speeding,
OMVAC and no seat belt, all misdemeanors. King was arrested
while northbound on Interstate 77 by Trooper Keener of the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 22 Nov 03 at 4:10 am.
