On 16 Nov 03 Brenda C. Deaton, age 44, 112 Hillsboro Drive, Marietta, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that between 9 pm on 15 Nov and 9 am on 16 Nov her boyfriend took her 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass without permission and did not return it. This incident remains under investigation (1184).

On 16 Nov 03 Daniel Law, age 30, 2107 Pride Avenue, Belpre, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that between 1 Nov and 8 Nov a suspect took a 35 mm camouflage trail camera and housing from a property located on Township Road 287. This case remains under investigation (602).

On 16 Nov 03 the Sheriff’s Office investigated a hit-skip traffic crash at the west end of River Road in Devola. An unidentified vehicle was driving eastbound through the parking lot of the Muskingum River Parkway Lock #2 when it drove off the right side of the road damaging ODNR wooden posts and signs then drove off the left side of the road striking a mailbox owned by Kenneth Gill, 1378 River Road, Marietta. This incident remains under investigation.

On 16 Nov 03 Richard Ogden, age 45, 1201 Congress Road, Belpre, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that he was struck in the neck with blue paintballs being fired from a passing vehicle. Mr. Ogden sustained swelling and bruising to his neck as a result of the incident. This case remains under investigation (500) (597).

On 16 Nov 03 Sheriff’s Deputy Simmons was dispatched to Township Road 90 in Newport after a man suffered injuries while four wheeling. Stephen E. Taylor, age 43, 729 Ninth Street, Marietta, suffered injuries to his back and left foot after his ATV rolled over him while attempting to climb a hill. Mr. Taylor was transported by ambulance to Selby General Hospital for treatment.

On 16 Nov 03 Julie Schneider, age 32, 3688 State Route 60 Unit A, Marietta, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that after an argument in her car parked at the home of Troy Lowe, age 45, 1224 Lancaster Street, Marietta, Mr. Lowe threw food in her face and made threats toward her. Mr. Lowe was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail (602).

On 16 Nov 03 Deputy Sheriff Norman investigated a two vehicle accident on Veto Road near the intersection of State Route 7. A 1989 Chevy Blazer driven by Richard E. Ogden II, age 24, 1201 Congress Road, Belpre, rear ended a 1991 Chevy Lumina driven by a 17 year old Belpre man. Ogden was issued a citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance. Damage was light and no injuries were reported.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Dallas Gene Ross III, age 24, 28660 Lyon Street, Coolville, OH, for Operating a Motor Vehicle while under the Influence, Possession of Drugs, and Left of Center. Ross was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the County Jail on November 16, 2003 at 12:40 AM.
