On 14 Nov 03 the Department of Children’s
Services requested the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office
in a rape investigation (953).
On 14 Nov 03 while on patrol on State Route 7 near milepost
28, Sheriff’s Deputy Canavan stopped a grey Chevrolet
for not having a front license plate. Upon making contact with
the driver, Deputy Canavan noticed the driver had glassy eyes
and smelled of marijuana. After being granted permission to
search the vehicle, a smoking pipe and rolling papers were found
in the glove compartment. Joel A. King, age 18, Phillips Street,
Belpre, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and
transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 14 Nov 03 while on patrol on State Route 7
in Marietta Township, Sheriff’s Deputy Lt. Canavan observed
Jeff Worstell, age 19, 320 Browns Road, Marietta, driving a
blue Oldsmobile. Aware that Mr. Worstell had a suspended license,
Deputy Canavan stopped the vehicle and confirmed Mr. Worstell’s
suspension. Mr. Worstell was arrested for driving under suspension
and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 14 Nov 03 Marlene Sullivan, age 33, 4050 Bear Creek Road,
Lowell, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that between
8 am on 13 Nov and 8 am on 14 Nov an unknown person(s) shot
her Appaloosa horse, killing it. This case remains under investigation
(698).
On 14 Nov 03 the Sheriff’s Office executed
a search warrant on a Washington County residence which yielded
items relating to a case the Marietta Police Department was
investigating involving the theft of items from Greenleaf Landscaping
(897).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Ronald Scott Science, age 37, 627 Seventh Street,
Marietta, OH, for Failure to Appear on Fines. Science was arrested
by the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
County Jail on November 14, 2003 at 12:55 AM.
Jeffrey Dean Worstell, age 19, Unknown Address, for No Operator’s
License (Court Suspension). Worstell was arrested by the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the County
Jail on November 14, 2003 at 11:37 AM (792).
Jameel Yasen Abdul Khan, age 19, 408 Paddock Green Drive, Parkersburg,
WV, for Probation Violation out of Marietta Municipal Court.
Khan was arrested by the Marietta Municipal Court Probation
Department and processed into the County Jail on November 14,
2003 at 3:27 PM.
Joel Allan King, age 18, Phillips Street, Belpre, OH, for Drug
Paraphernalia. King was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the County Jail on November 14, 2003
at 5:05 PM (792).
Christopher Parish Burns, age 23, Post Office Box 34, State
Route 7 Doaks Curve, Reno, OH, for Failure to Appear. Burns
was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the County Jail on November 14, 2003 at 5:10
PM (481).
Mark Allen Wilkes, age 41, 817 18 th Street, Vienna, WV, for
Failure to Appear on Fines and Failure to Appear. Wilkes was
arrested and processed into the County Jail on November 14,
2003 at 6:35 PM.
Kevin Wesley Houck, age 20, Route 2 Box 17, Marietta, OH, for
Probation Violation out of Common Pleas Court. Houck was arrested
by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the County Jail on November 14, 2003 at 7:15 PM (953).
