On 13 Nov 03 the Morgan County Sheriff’s
Office requested the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff's
Office K-9 unit. Sheriff’s Deputy Stackpole and his dog
Magnum aided in the execution of a search warrant at a residence
on Plantsville Road in Chesterhill.
On 13 Nov 03 Sheriff’s Deputy Alkire filed
an affidavit requesting summonses for a 16 year old male juvenile
for underage consumption and for Teresa Smith, age 34, 1291
McNeal Road, Waterford, for furnishing alcohol to a minor. Deputy
Alkire filed the affidavit subsequent to an investigation that
began on 3 Oct 03.
On 13 Nov 03 Sheriff’s Deputy Kapple responded to a report
from the mother of a Warren High School student stating that
her son left home around 9 pm on 12 Nov and had not returned.
Repeated attempts to locate the juvenile at relative’s
homes were unsuccessful; however the juvenile informed his mother
of his whereabouts at 8:30 on 13 Nov 03. Deputy Kapple then
filed an affidavit requesting a summons for the juvenile for
On 13 Nov 03 Betty T. Jackson, age 64, 50 Harrison Street, Newport,
reported to the Sheriff’s Office that since July of this
year she has been receiving harassing phone calls. An investigation
concluded that the person calling was calling on behalf of a
loan company that Ms. Jackson recently stopped making payments
to. Case closed (1291).
On 13 Nov 03 Sheriff’s Deputy Eddy filed
an affidavit requesting a summons for Thomas M. Jones, age 31,
Rural Route 1 Box 557, Scarbro, WV, for phone harassment. Deputy
Eddy filed the affidavit subsequent to an incident that occurred
on 7 Nov 03.
The Sheriff’s Office
received the following warrants:
Eric S. Lightfritz, Route 2, Box 194, Marietta,
OH, age 21, for failure to serve days in the County Jail.
Adam D. Mason, 818 ½ Lee Street, Belpre, OH, age 19,
for failure to appear at jail. Mason was originally charged
by the Belpre Police Department for Disorderly Conduct.
Joseph R. Colley, 112461 Beaver Park, Jackson, OH, age 27, failure
to appear to serve 2 days. Colley was originally charged with
no o/l by the Ohio State Patrol.
Franklin Sunderman, 101 Bells Run, Newport, OH, age 70, for
domestic violence. Sunderman was originally charged by the Sheriff’s
Willard G. Bush, Route 1, Box 60, Newport, OH, age 26, for passing
bad checks. Bush was originally charged by the Sheriff’s
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Daniel Dwaine Gaughn, age 37, Route 1 Box 94 County
Road 18, Cutler, for OMVI, no O/L and failure to obey a traffic
control device, all misdemeanors. Gaughan was arrested by the
Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 Nov 03 at 12:20 am.
Robert Vance Hardie Jr., age 21, 105 Bear Run Road, Newport,
for rape, a felony. Hardie was arrested by the Marietta Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
13 Nov 03 at 10:35 am.
Mark Thompson, age 33, 226 Seventh Avenue, Paden
City, WV, for failure to appear on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Thompson was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Nov
03 at 4:15 pm.
