On 9 Nov 03 Bev Britton reported to the Sheriff’s
Office that an unknown suspect(s) punctured and flattened the
front right tire of her Nissan truck. This case remains under
investigation (698).
On 9 Nov 03 Sheriff’s Deputies Malone and Jobes were dispatched
to the home of Leah McDaniel, age 45, 27758 State Route 7, Marietta,
concerning a domestic dispute. After an investigation Deputies
deduced that during an argument Tony E. McDaniel, age 45, grabbed
his wife by the neck and shoved her to the floor, causing scratches
to her knee and a bump on her cheek. Mr. McDaniel was arrested
and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 9 Nov 03 Mark E. Williams, age 72, 695 Bramblewood Heights
Road, Marietta, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that
sometime between 1 Sep and 9 Nov 03 an unknown suspect(s) entered
his former home on River Road and removed a GE microwave and
a Kirby upright sweeper. This case remains under investigation
(597) (500).
On 9 Nov 03 the Sheriff’s Office filed an affidavit requesting
a summons for James Webb, age 26, 410 Cramer Road, Marietta,
for telecommunications harassment.
On 9 Nov 03 Dawn Pugh, age 29, 1007 Third Street,
Marietta, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that a friend
she gave a ride to, allegedly took a prescription pill bottle
containing Xanax from her car’s glove box. This incident
remains under investigation (500) (597).
On 9 Nov 03 Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Hiatt responded to a
report of domestic violence at 817 Masonic Park Road Lot 9,
Marietta. The victim stated that his intoxicated father, Thomas
Shaffer, age 45, awoke him at 9:00 pm by choking him. The victim
then struck his father twice in self-defense then left the residence.
Mr. Shaffer was arrested for domestic violence and transported
to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment and ordered to report
to the Washington County Jail upon completion of treatment.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Tony Edward McDaniel, 27758 State Route 7, Marietta,
OH, for domestic violence. McDaniel was arrested by the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11/09/03 at 0515.
Roger Lee Ward Jr., Route 2, Box 258, Twp. 118, Lowell, OH,
for failure to appear and robbery. Ward was arrested by the
Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11/09/03 at 1305.
William Walter Summers, 906 Fourth Street, Marietta, OH, for
robbery. Summers was arrested by the Marietta Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/09/03 at
1340.
