On 7 Nov 03 the Sheriff’s Office filed an affidavit requesting a summons for David A. Shanholtzer, age 19, 609 Sixth Street, New Martinsville, WV, for telecommunications harassment.

On 7 Nov 03 the Sheriff’s Office filed an affidavit requesting a summons for Justin Henderson, age 21, 1007 Pike Street, Marietta, for telecommunications harassment.

On 7 Nov 03 the Sheriff’s Office filed an affidavit requesting a summons for 17 year old male, a resident of Vincent, for taking the identity of another.

On 7 Nov 03 Sheriff’s Deputy Spencer was dispatched to the home of a Marietta man concerning a domestic dispute. The father alleges that when his wife attempted to discipline her stepson the stepson became belligerent and tore his closet door off the hinges and punched his father. This case remains under investigation.

On 7 Nov 03 Erin Stewart, age 29, 2355 Barnett Ridge Road, Fleming, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that she was assaulted by her husband Jeffrey, age 29, on 4 Nov 03. After an investigation it was determined that during an argument on 4 Nov Mr. Stewart slapped Mrs. Stewart causing damage to her ear and grabbed her arms which resulted in bruising. Mr. Stewart was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail (602).

On 7 Nov 03 the parent of a Waterford teen reported to the Sheriff’s Office that the driver of his son’s bus violently grabbed the teen’s arm. This incident remains under investigation (1291).

On 7 Nov 03 Rebecca Wears, age 34, 1381 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that a side window of her Ford Aerostar was broken between 5 Nov and 7 Nov. This case remains under investigation (602).

On 7 Nov 03 Dorothy Way, age 79, 21 Garden City Road, Marietta, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that she received a phone call from a Canadian woman stating that if she sent $1,800 she would receive $200,000 in return. Skeptical of this dubious offer, Ms. Way did not send the money and reported the call to authorities. Case closed (1291).

On 7 Nov 03 Sheriff’s Deputy Hall stopped a vehicle in Marietta Township after he was unable to read the mud covered license number. A routine check of the driver yielded a warrant out of Lorain County for misuse of a credit card. Roy D. Byrge, age 23, 38147 Center Ridge Road, Ridgeville was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 7 Nov 03 the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a Marietta woman after she repeatedly received harassing telephone calls. This case remains under investigation (1020).

On 7 Nov 03 Julia A. McKnight, age 1152 Brownsville Road, New Matamoras, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that two tires on her Pontiac Grand Am were punctured while parked at the Dockside Tavern on the evening of 8 Nov 03. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 7 Nov 03 Valerie A. Caplinger, age 34, 314 Apt. 1 Third Street, Lowell, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that between 6:60 pm on 6 Nov 03 and 9:15 am on 7 Nov 03 an unknown suspect(s) smeared dish soap on the windows of and dog feces on the door handle of her 1990 Pontiac. This case remains under investigation (1291).

On 7 Nov 03 Joann Sparks, age 57, 190 Glendale Road, Marietta, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that between noon on 5 Nov and 1 am on 7 Nov an unknown suspect(s) broke into his grandmother’s home on Mulberry Street in Newport and removed a compound bow, a US savings bond and a People’s Bank checkbook. This case remains under investigation (698).

On 7 Nov 03 an employee of Tender Equity, Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that a red Honda 300cc ATV was stolen from the back of a company truck while parked at 109 Bailey Drive. This case remains under investigation (1291).

Ben Joshua Johnson, 607 Cross Street, Belpre, OH, for disorderly conduct. Johnson was arrested by the Belpre Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/07/03 at 0045.

Jon Anthony Cox, 1 Campus View Drive, Vienna, WV, for underage consumption of alcohol, and drug paraphernalia. Cox was arrested by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/07/03 at 0235.

Larry James Morgan, 396 Dodge Avenue, Williamstown, WV, for failure to appear (fines). Morgan was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/07/03 at 1130.

Thomas Hilton Bailey, Jr., 83 Watson Lane, Belpre, OH, for contempt of court. Bailey was charged by Juvenile Court and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/07/03 at 1045.

Jeffrey Allen Stewart, 2355 Barnett Ridge Road, Fleming, OH, for domestic violence. Stewart was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/07/03 at 2310.

Roy Dean Byrge, 38147 Center Ridge Road, Ridgeville, OH, for contempt of a court order. Byrge was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/07/03 at 2330.

Scott Allen Phillips, 1571 Third Street, Columbus, OH, for OMVI, no O/L, no seat belt, marked lanes, and failure to appear. Phillips was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/0/03 at 0145.

Robert Klein, 537 Zanesville Street, Beverly, OH, for OMVI and failure to control. Klein was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11/0/03 at 0857.
